Frequently Asked Questions
We have answers for your questions.
Typically, no. In most cases, your RV or boat is fully up to date when it leaves the manufacturer. Spyder updates do not introduce new features, so routine updates are not necessary. However, if you experience a bug or suspect a software-related issue, please contact Spyder Controls at 866-919-9092.
A red triangle indicates a fault within the system. Simply press the triangle to display a plain-English explanation of the issue. If you do not understand the fault or need help resolving it, please contact Spyder Controls at 866-919-9092.
If you realize you ordered the incorrect part, do not open or install it. We can often accept returns on unopened items, subject to a small restocking and shipping fee. Unfortunately, we typically cannot offer refunds for parts once they have been opened or installed. For full details, please visit https://www.spydertc.com/ and scroll down to our Return Policy.
Yes. Spyder products have a warranty. Please contact the manufacturer of your RV or boat to determine the exact length of your warranty period. Individual parts ordered directly from the Spyder store carry a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. For more information on our warranty policies, visit https://www.spydertc.com/.
No. Currently, Spyder does not operate official support facilities. However, our support team is able to work with most certified RV and marine technicians to help resolve issues. We highly recommend checking with your RV or boat manufacturer before scheduling service to ensure your chosen service center is approved for your unit.
Do not use sprays. Never apply aerosols, sprays, or soap and water to the screen, modules or switches, as this can damage the electronics. To safely clean your Spyder display, use an alcohol-based lens wipe or a dedicated electronics cleaning wipe, keeping moisture to an absolute minimum.
These symbols indicate the Radio Frequency (RF) communication status of your unit.
-
Rx (Received): The Spyder system displays Rx when it successfully receives a signal from a known, paired switch panel.
-
sRX (Unknown Received): The system displays sRX if it detects an unrecognized signal. The system will automatically disregard this unknown communication.
Note: You may occasionally see the Rx symbol appear even when you are not pressing a button. This is completely normal and typically indicates that the wireless switch panels in your coach are simply reporting their battery status to the main system.
-
The reset process varies slightly from unit to unit, but to perform a proper reset, all 12V+ power must be disconnected from the Spyder system. This is generally accomplished by turning off the rotary disconnect switches to cut power from the batteries. Once the power is disconnected, wait at least five seconds before restoring it. If a fault reoccurs after a reset, or if you need additional support, please contact Spyder Controls at 866-919-9092.
